MOVE - Exercise classes
We all know exercise is important but why do people join the gym and never go? Have you signed up to do a couch to 5k but then gave up running as soon as you achieved your goal?
I call it movement rather than exercise because it can take many different forms – gardening, housework and walking are all ways to move and will keep you fit. Keeping fit helps your cardiovascular health and helps weight management but there is so much more to moving.
As we age we lose muscle mass, bone density and strength. If you are a women, after the menopause this accelerates. Finding movement that makes you smile and feel good makes it easier to keep it going. If you’ve managed to build movement into your daily routine – well done, keep it going. If not why not try my exercise to music class – Paracise and dance/fitness class – Fitsteps. There are additional benefits of improved sleep, mood and brain health as we learn and remember new routines.
