Susie Alderson Nutritionist Reflexologist Berkhamsted

Hi, I'm Susie Alderson

Nutritional and Lifestyle Coaching for Long Term Wellbeing

Help and support to change your body and your health

I’m a registered Nutrition, Reflexology and Lifestyle coach based in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. I work mainly with women who are so busy juggling families, careers and a hundred other daily tasks that their own health and wellbeing tends to be at the bottom of their To Do list.

The pace of life these days can be frantic, and with so many other demands on our time it can be too easy to fall into the habit of grabbing whatever is quickest and easiest when it comes to meal times. But consistently making inappropriate food choices can take its toll on us. Food and lifestyle habits can lead to low self-esteem, feeling exhausted, and being out of shape. But also making new habits for eating and moving can lift our mood and help us cope with anything that’s thrown at us.

Why work with me

I can show you a new world where good nutrition becomes not just a shopping choice, but a way of life. I have a friendly and realistic approach, getting to know you in order to ensure you get the best health programme to meet your needs and lifestyle.

I initially trained as a Nutritional Therapist and Reflexologist. I’ve had problems with arthritis for many years and after realising that my symptoms were triggered by stress I decided to take additional qualifications as a Personal Trainer and NLP Practitioner. The knowledge I gained from all of these disciplines has been invaluable to my health. My arthritis is no longer a problem, I’m exercising well and I’m fitter than I’ve been for years. I found a great way to exercise which combines my love of music and dance and I now teach the classes myself.

I’ve also learned that good health isn’t about taking pills: it’s about looking at your food and lifestyle and creating the right habits which can have life-changing effects. I’ve found over the years of working with clients that eating habits and the meaning given to food as a fixer is just as important as the actual food eaten. So I have a particular interest in helping break emotional eating habits, where you consciously or subconsciously reach for a high sugar snack to help you deal with negative emotions.

Before my arthritis started I used to take part in just about every sport going so I understand the importance of nutrition to fuel exercise. My family are all very sporty and it’s important to me to help keep them healthy too. I work with sports people (young and old) to support them to improve their performance and achieve their goals, whatever they may be.

I am based in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire and cover Hemel Hempstead, Tring, Chesham and the surrounding villages. My nutrition consultations can be online and some of my fitness classes are too, so you could be anywhere in the world!
